Barn Studio

The one that surprises you. An expansive, quietly cinematic loft inside a modern barn, designed for movie nights, slow cooking, music, and the particular pleasure of a space that doesn't feel like anything you've stayed in before.

The Space

Barn Studio doesn't announce itself from the outside, and that's part of the fun. You enter from the back, and then the space opens up. High ceilings, a glass garage door that faces a field where deer pass through in the evenings, and an 18-foot projection screen that makes every film feel like an event. This is the most voluminous of our properties, and it has a specific kind of energy: fun, surprising, and not at all like a boring vacation rental.

The living area is made for staying in. There's an arcade table with 400+ classic games, a record player, a Roland digital piano, a Fender guitar, and a fully functional disco ball operated by voice command. The kitchen opens onto the living space with peninsula seating and an oversized window overlooking the field. Upstairs, the main sleeping loft overlooks everything below: king bed, walk-in closet, rain shower, long desk. On the ground floor, a second sleeping area with a full-size bed is best suited to a child or one additional adult.

And your reset begins before you unpack: every stay includes a welcome bottle or non-alcoholic treat, waiting when you arrive.

Barn Studio is situated across the street from Cook House (another property of ours). Both properties can be rented together if desired. The neighborhood in summer can also have some ambient sound from neighbors nearby. This isn't a property we'd describe as dead-quiet. It's a property we'd describe as alive and worth it.

Optional Add-Ons

• Wood-fired pizza oven ($100): Available to guests with prior pizza oven experience, with advance arrangement. The fee covers a supply of specialty wood, firestarters, a laser thermometer, and all necessary tools and peels. Please be upfront about your experience level — this is a serious piece of equipment and results depend on knowing how to use it. Arrange in advance via the inquiry or SMS thread.

Every Reset Club property is maintained to the same baseline: the details that make the difference between a house someone rents and a place that actually restores you.

Good to Know

Barn Studio is just under 2.5 hours from NYC. A car is necessary. Vernooy Kill Falls, Ashokan Reservoir, and Minnewaska State Park are all 10 to 20 minutes away and offer hiking and scenic nature walks. Inness Restaurant and Spa, Westwind Orchard, and Arrowood Farm Brewery are all within 20 minutes.

The kitchen is stocked with organic pantry basics and spices — flour, sugar, rice, cinnamon, crushed red pepper, and more — for when inspiration strikes or you need a little something extra. If you're cooking something specific, we recommend bringing your own ingredients. Tetta's Market and Deli is the closest option for last-minute needs, though with a more limited selection. Accord Market and MyTown Marketplace in Stone Ridge are our go-to stops for a fuller shop. If you're driving up late, Shoprite in New Paltz is usually open until midnight (10pm on Sundays).

This property includes smart lighting with voice control, projection systems, Sonos, induction cooking, and other contemporary systems that feel intuitive for guests comfortable with modern homes.

The AppleTV is set up for you to sign into your own streaming accounts. Our team resets every device between stays, but if you'd like to clear your accounts before checkout, there's an "Erase and Reset" app on the AppleTV that makes it easy.

Barn Studio is entered from the back of the building, around the right side from the street. The street-facing portion of the barn is secured owner storage and is not part of the rental. There is also a small detached storage shed on the far right of the property that our team may occasionally need to access; the guest area is designed to remain private.

The backyard looks out over a small field and pond that deer pass through regularly. The pond and field area beyond the outdoor fireplace are visible from across the street, so we ask that guests keep outdoor activity within the generous area directly behind the barn.

Parking for up to two vehicles is available. EV charging: NEMA 14-50 outlet (bring your own charge cable).

House Rules

• Check-in: 4pm. Check-out: 12pm.
• Guests must sign our basic Guest Agreement after booking. Your arrival information and custom door code will be sent on the morning of check-in.
• Only registered guests may enter the property.
• Sorry, no pets.
• No parties or events.
• No smoking indoors. If smoking outside, please dispose of butts safely and off the property.
• To help keep the floors and furnishings nice for everyone, we ask that guests remove outdoor shoes when entering.
• Bookings are for personal residential use only. Commercial photography, sponsored content, and video production require separate arrangements. Contact us for details.
• The field is treated seasonally with natural oil to help reduce ticks; this is still a rural setting and ticks are possible.
• The outdoor pizza oven is available for an additional fee and requires prior experience and advance arrangement.

Book With Confidence

We built this booking system so you don't have to go through a third-party platform. That means better rates for you and a more direct relationship with us. Here's what to expect:

• Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Your card details are never stored by us. Your stay is paid in full at booking: one simple charge, nothing to follow up on.
• Identity verification is required for all bookings, handled securely through Truvi. You'll receive a verification link shortly after booking.
• Reduced rates for stays of 7 nights or more are automatically applied at checkout.
• Early check-in and late check-out may be available for an additional fee of $150, but cannot be confirmed until the evening before your arrival or departure. Because we only have one of each property, availability depends entirely on the bookings immediately before and after yours.
• Cancellation and date changes: All bookings are final. We don't offer refunds or date changes, which is why we strongly recommend adding travel insurance at checkout. It's the simplest way to protect your trip against the unexpected: job changes, illness, family emergencies. It gives you a real channel for recourse if life gets in the way.
• Travel insurance is available through Rental Guardian at checkout. You can review their full coverage overview before completing your booking.
• Have a question before booking? Use the Comments/Questions field and hit Inquire. We'll follow up with everything you need and can convert your inquiry to a booking directly.
• We're reachable by SMS (US numbers). Once your booking is confirmed, you'll get a first message from us. Use that thread for anything: questions, planning, recommendations. Responses typically arrive within minutes; for booking changes, we'll follow up as soon as we're available. On the morning of check-in, we'll send your custom door code through the same thread. If you have a non-US number, we'll follow up via email instead.
