THE EXPERIENCE

Barn Studio is a creative loft tucked inside a converted pole barn, shaped by concrete floors, tall volumes, and wide views of a small field and pine trees. The space blends raw materiality with designer furnishings, immersive media, and playful creative tools. The glass garage door brings the outside in, while the 16 foot ceilings give the entire space a sense of openness and possibility.

Mornings often begin with deer moving through the backyard. Evenings shift into a cinematic atmosphere as the 18 foot diagonal projection screen comes alive for films, music videos, or quiet ambient visuals. With zones for cooking, lounging, brainstorming, and stargazing, Barn Studio feels like a modern Soho loft placed in the middle of the Catskills.

ORIGINS

Barn Studio began as a storage building when we moved our design studio and materials from the city. During that period it held equipment, prototypes, and tools. Late in lockdown, we brought a large outdoor projection screen inside for a work session and opened the garage doors for ventilation. The scale, acoustics, and open air changed the way the space felt, and the idea for a live and work loft began to take shape.

We divided the front garage from the back of the barn, and built the kitchen, lofted bedroom and bathroom, second bedroom on the ground floor, and installed the projection screen that now defines the space. Some surfaces remain raw from its earlier studio life and others are newly crafted. Together they create a loft that carries both experimentation and comfort.

Lounge seating with vintage Preway fireplace. Custom queen-sized outdoor couch for relaxing or stargazing. Professional Il Fornino wood-fired pizza oven available for experienced guests or with advance coordination.

AROUND

Barn Studio is located in Kerhonkson, directly across the street from Cook House. The area is known for wooded hills, quiet farmland, and slow scenic roads. The backyard faces a field and small pond where deer often pass at dawn and dusk. Kerhonkson, Accord, and Stone Ridge offer dining, orchards, markets, and access to hikes and swimming spots. Most guests choose to stay close and enjoy the loft, but everything you need is a short drive away.

A team-access storage shed sits on the right side of the property behind the fence. It is used occasionally but the guest space remains private.

HOUSE RULES

Guests must sign our basic Guest Agreement to confirm their reservation. Once the Guest Agreement is signed you'll receive an email with recommendations as well as the custom door code on the morning of your check-in.

Reduced rates are only available for stays over 7 nights and are automatically calculated at checkout.

We love animals, but unfortunately for health and safety reasons, we are not able to accommodate them.

Only guests listed on your reservation may enter the property.

No smoking indoors.

The property is not to be used for events, photography or video for commercial, stock, or sponsored media purposes. If you would like to use the space for photography or video, please contact us for pricing, details, and location release.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: Ninety-five percent (95.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued. Grace period with free cancellation for 24 hours after booking if arrival is at least 72 hours away at time of booking..
